So Far, So Good...

This past Friday was the 8 week mark for the new Kilchenstein Family and everything continues to go well. We have been very fortunate, not just in finding the boys but also in how everything has gone. Maks has been doing a great job on the potty and younger brother Fin has started to give it a whirl. It’s hit or miss, haha, with Fin but anything in the potty is a bonus!! Maks is talking up a storm and repeating everything, including; shoot! And c’mon man! (thanks to Papa - that’s Dad to the rest of you) I haven’t switched to Dad yet as all they have known since we met them is Papa. I really like it. Maks will actually say ‘Hey Pop’ quite a bit to get my attention. Fin has been working on his speech and making progress. Both of the boys are doing well picking up sign language, which is pretty cool.

Colleen has introduced them to the daycare at the gym while she gets a workout in and they seem to like that which bodes well for when she goes back to work. Recently Colleen won our Family Football Pool (again) this year and when she got her trophy – the Football - we jumped up and down and cheered Mama, Mama! So now when Maks sees a football he says Mama, Mama!

Hard to believe that only 5 months ago we received pictures of the boys and had to make the decision to travel to Russia. 4 months ago we met the boys for the first time. Crazy how so much can happen in such a short period of time. We feel pretty good about how the bonding is going with the boys and are excited about what the future holds for all of us!
